bottom right icons not working

All those icons in the bottom right of the taskbar do not work, no response despite left clicks on those icons. These include the volume, network, clock and notifications icons. The Action Center cannot be called out as well. However, those hidden icons under the "Up Arrow" work properly.

My desktop is running on Windows 10 Home version 21H2, the latest Windows update was just run yesterday.

The followings have been tried with no improvement:

a) System File Checker - sfc /scannow

b) DISM tool - CheckHealth, ScanHealth & Restorehealth

c) Powershell command

Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

d) Renaming of UsrClass.dat file

e) Restart Windows Explorer

Anything else I can do to solve the problems?

Let me know how it goes. I'll be here a little while longer, then back in the late morning PST.

    I got it, thanks.

ISO file created in harddisk, will go ahead for Repair Install.

It's best to download the ISO or create the bootable media because otherwise it runs the Installation Assistant which can be buggy.

If you just download the ISO, double click to mount it, right click Setup to Run as Administrator.

If you make the bootable media, open it in Explorer, right click Setup to Run as Admin.

    Follow the prompts.

    Hi Greg,

I've removed the AVG with remover downloaded. Check by sfc, everything OK. Windows Defender is on.

Then install MalwareBytes and run the scan once, with no detection returned. Program turned to free version with real-time protection set to off.

In going through the steps for Repair Install, I note from your previous message that in running the Media Creation Tool, select "Upgrade the PC now".

However, according to the tutorial you suggested, it instructs to select "Create Installation Media.....".

    Which selection should I make?
