MSN News and replying to comments

I started having an issue (very recently) with being able to answer a reply to my comments on MSN News. I can comment on a news article and someone will reply to that comment. When I open MSN News again and get a "reply balloon" on the bottom of the page and proceed to click on the text in the balloon (to bring up that page with the comments so I can respond), it now takes me to a "Microsoft Start" version of that page (with the colored blocks showing on the page tab instead of the MSN butterfly) which looks like the story as it appeared from its original source (like Reuters or Insider, etc.) that doesn't have the comments available or showing anywhere; it's completely different from the original MSN page.
I typically use Firefox but I’ve opened MSN in Edge and it’s doing the same thing, so the only way to comment on a reply is to bookmark the original MSN page when I comment, then get back to the page that way and hunt for the reply to my comment on a refreshed version of the page. As of now, I haven’t found a way to get it back to the way it used to act, so maybe this is new behavior with MSN News, but if so, it’s definitely not preferable to the way it used to be. This isn't some critical issue, but it's very annoying when trying to follow-up with replying to a comment response. (Windows 10 Pro, HP laptop)

2021-11-08T18:57:56+00:00 I was curious if it was the same issue for those who are using the app. But I believe it points to a transition of some kind involving even more control over the comments. Every so often an actual voter, or US citizen, slips through.

2021-11-12T12:58:19+00:00 With multiple people having same problem for a while now, I'm wondering if MSFT is not interested in solving this problem. By doing so, they can stop back and forth bantering. I see it as useful dialog people should be allowed to carry on, even if their opinions differ. However, I also find this very annoying as I see replies directed right back at me and I'm unable to answer them back.
