I started having an issue (very recently) with being able to answer a reply to my comments on MSN News. I can comment on a news article and someone will reply to that comment. When I open MSN News again and get a "reply balloon" on the bottom of the page and proceed to click on the text in the balloon (to bring up that page with the comments so I can respond), it now takes me to a "Microsoft Start" version of that page (with the colored blocks showing on the page tab instead of the MSN butterfly) which looks like the story as it appeared from its original source (like Reuters or Insider, etc.) that doesn't have the comments available or showing anywhere; it's completely different from the original MSN page.
I typically use Firefox but I’ve opened MSN in Edge and it’s doing the same thing, so the only way to comment on a reply is to bookmark the original MSN page when I comment, then get back to the page that way and hunt for the reply to my comment on a refreshed version of the page. As of now, I haven’t found a way to get it back to the way it used to act, so maybe this is new behavior with MSN News, but if so, it’s definitely not preferable to the way it used to be. This isn't some critical issue, but it's very annoying when trying to follow-up with replying to a comment response. (Windows 10 Pro, HP laptop)

I have the same problem! It really makes it unusable. Also I hate the fact that you can give a direct account of history or something but if it is against a democrat it will be deleted. No one ever brings up microsoft or Bill Gates when they talk about news suppression or disinformation but really microsoft is a very big culprit!
Everything is so politicized and polarized nowadays. I don't expect that to change anytime soon. On another note, it looks like Yahoo has suspended ALL commenting, at least for now. Articles that did allow comments were a bit sparse before, but now they've completely done away with them....to keep everyone "safe in the community"...that's the Big Brother spin on it. I have to disagree with that statement. I see lots of negative comments about both parties. Many posters directly called Dems a variety of names and those posts are not deleted. I don't know how the algorithm for filtering works, really. It's supposed to eliminate threats, hate speech, obscenity, and such; but sometimes very innocuous things are flagged. Those are not necessarily political either.
