MSN News and replying to comments

I started having an issue (very recently) with being able to answer a reply to my comments on MSN News. I can comment on a news article and someone will reply to that comment. When I open MSN News again and get a "reply balloon" on the bottom of the page and proceed to click on the text in the balloon (to bring up that page with the comments so I can respond), it now takes me to a "Microsoft Start" version of that page (with the colored blocks showing on the page tab instead of the MSN butterfly) which looks like the story as it appeared from its original source (like Reuters or Insider, etc.) that doesn't have the comments available or showing anywhere; it's completely different from the original MSN page.

I typically use Firefox but I’ve opened MSN in Edge and it’s doing the same thing, so the only way to comment on a reply is to bookmark the original MSN page when I comment, then get back to the page that way and hunt for the reply to my comment on a refreshed version of the page. As of now, I haven’t found a way to get it back to the way it used to act, so maybe this is new behavior with MSN News, but if so, it’s definitely not preferable to the way it used to be. This isn't some critical issue, but it's very annoying when trying to follow-up with replying to a comment response. (Windows 10 Pro, HP laptop)

    It is very annoying, to say the least. I am having the same issue. This also just started happening recently as I could just click on the notification that I got a reply and be taken to the proper form and see all the comments. I also have my notification turned on but can only see 1-3 at a time and if I happen to be lucky that one of the replies is there then and only then will it direct me to the proper page to reply but that is only in the notification bell at the top of the page.

    I open an article and click on the ballon to comment. The page that is open has a white background. When I click on my notification at the bottom of the screen that has a small snippet of the comment someone left for me it redirects me to a page with a black background, It is the same article but formated differently and there is no comment section. Even if I happen to get lucky and find the page where it shows all my comments/replies I click on that link and get directed to the same page with a black background and no replies.

    I even tried to DL Mircosoft Start to my phone and that is just even worse. I have tried different browsers and still have the same issues. I am also glad I am not alone in this problem and I hope it is addressed soon. I would contact MSN about the issue but I do not see a form to fill out and send them, I would rather not talk to anyone on the phone. The last time I had an issue it was like a circus trying to get to the right person, then having to tell the problem over and over again with each new person.

    Since this conversation has been active for a while now and there has been neither a change in site functionality nor any response posted here from Microsoft, I'm wondering if they have anyone looking at their community message boards. [Certainly, they should.]

    When I looked for ways to contact them, the only customer service items revealed were related to their Office software. As there are many people who utilize their news aggregation sites (and they make money from ads there) it would seem they'd be interested in hearing from us.

    I've seen no difference whatsoever in the behavior of the MSN News/balloons since my original post here. Yes, I'd think someone from MSFT would have noticed the conversations here by now. Welcome to the party.
