I started having an issue (very recently) with being able to answer a reply to my comments on MSN News. I can comment on a news article and someone will reply to that comment. When I open MSN News again and get a "reply balloon" on the bottom of the page and proceed to click on the text in the balloon (to bring up that page with the comments so I can respond), it now takes me to a "Microsoft Start" version of that page (with the colored blocks showing on the page tab instead of the MSN butterfly) which looks like the story as it appeared from its original source (like Reuters or Insider, etc.) that doesn't have the comments available or showing anywhere; it's completely different from the original MSN page.
I typically use Firefox but I’ve opened MSN in Edge and it’s doing the same thing, so the only way to comment on a reply is to bookmark the original MSN page when I comment, then get back to the page that way and hunt for the reply to my comment on a refreshed version of the page. As of now, I haven’t found a way to get it back to the way it used to act, so maybe this is new behavior with MSN News, but if so, it’s definitely not preferable to the way it used to be. This isn't some critical issue, but it's very annoying when trying to follow-up with replying to a comment response. (Windows 10 Pro, HP laptop)

I'm not sure why you are saying that. Not all articles allow commenting, but many do. You do, however, have to create and/or be logged in to your Yahoo account in order to comment on those articles, but if you do that, you'll see a variety of articles that indeed do allow comments...now whether or not your comment will be allowed is another matter, as has been discussed in this thread multiple times.
For what it's worth: recently, I have gotten updates telling me that my post (or reply to a post) was deleted, but they do not say why. I never curse, threaten, insult, or anything of the sort; so, I really don't get it. One deleted post was just me expressing that it wasn't time to let a certain serial killer from Maryland out of jail just yet. [Wonder if this gets to stay here?]
I've also flagged awful comments -- for example a person praising the "master race" for their actions during the racial purges during WWII -- had them go down and then be put back up following "review". So, I doubly don't get it.
Yahoo doesn't have comments anymore. I sure wish they did.
yeah...I post infrequently nowadays, but every now and then I'll see something that gets my attention. I think all the decision-making on the comments is done by AI algorithms; obviously it would take a room-full of people working full-time to perform that task manually. What continues to be annoying is that, at least on MSN, you may have a comment under review but you're never told whether or not they decided to post it after the review. It is what it is, I suppose. thank you for that. And the censorship has become onerous, and that is being kind. Perfectly innocuous posts on my part are routinely rejected, and without a bit of WHAT made it not fit the 'guidelines'. Bottom line, Msoft cant do comments worth a damn. I will look at Yahoo as my portal.
I'm late to the party but you're spot on. Same issues here. I've suspected I'm on the MSN hit list for some comment I made years ago they didn't like. Innocuous posts I've made get flagged and other posts that are much more controversial are left up. The inconsistency is glaring. I send them messages in all caps **** them out but the problem still persists.
