MSN News and replying to comments

I started having an issue (very recently) with being able to answer a reply to my comments on MSN News. I can comment on a news article and someone will reply to that comment. When I open MSN News again and get a "reply balloon" on the bottom of the page and proceed to click on the text in the balloon (to bring up that page with the comments so I can respond), it now takes me to a "Microsoft Start" version of that page (with the colored blocks showing on the page tab instead of the MSN butterfly) which looks like the story as it appeared from its original source (like Reuters or Insider, etc.) that doesn't have the comments available or showing anywhere; it's completely different from the original MSN page.

I typically use Firefox but I’ve opened MSN in Edge and it’s doing the same thing, so the only way to comment on a reply is to bookmark the original MSN page when I comment, then get back to the page that way and hunt for the reply to my comment on a refreshed version of the page. As of now, I haven’t found a way to get it back to the way it used to act, so maybe this is new behavior with MSN News, but if so, it’s definitely not preferable to the way it used to be. This isn't some critical issue, but it's very annoying when trying to follow-up with replying to a comment response. (Windows 10 Pro, HP laptop)

    For what it's worth: recently, I have gotten updates telling me that my post (or reply to a post) was deleted, but they do not say why. I never curse, threaten, insult, or anything of the sort; so, I really don't get it. One deleted post was just me expressing that it wasn't time to let a certain serial killer from Maryland out of jail just yet. [Wonder if this gets to stay here?]

    I've also flagged awful comments -- for example a person praising the "master race" for their actions during the racial purges during WWII -- had them go down and then be put back up following "review". So, I doubly don't get it.

    well that didn't last long. A whole HALF HOUR later and it is broke again. Clicking the pop up balloon will now take you to the page and open the comments sidebar, but NOT take you to the actual comment. Which is of course useless, as their is not even a ' search by username or text fragment ' which would at least let you do it the HARD way. I give up, msoft has yet again found a way to offer a unusable bug ridden solution.

    After going to the article, mine automatically opened comments and went to the one that generated the notification. It took a minute to happen; comments opened blank initially; and twice it disappeared and had to be refreshed.

    A work in progress?

    sad to say, but my testing over about a dozen articles has shown that replies to my comments are not 'popping' up as they should, leaving you to pore over hundreds and even thousands of comments to find it, which is of course ludicrous. At the VERY LEAST msoft should let you SEARCH the comments for your account name.

    I don't know if this conversation had anything to do with it, but the system is mostly working again. Now, it not only goes to the article but to the comment to which I want to respond.

    Sometimes it seems a little unstable, but re-clicking works to get it back.
