Windows 11 battery draining in sleep mode

Hi everyone,

After the upgrade to Windows 11, I've found that my laptop won't go to sleep after closing the lid. The fan keeps making noise with the lid closed, and the battery is drained.

When opening the lid again, the computer won't respond to anything (blank screen, power button does nothing, keyboard doesn't respond), but it's active because the fan is working.

This was working fine before the upgrade and is a major problem, because the battery dies pretty quickly.

Laptop is a Lenovo IdeaPad 530 i7 8 GB ram.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    With my system streaming music, as soon as it goes to sleep, the music stops. I do not have media streaming enabled in the Advanced Sharing options.

    We may need to look at some of the numbers since I don't understand what you are seeing. You can compare the mWh and % of battery used against what mine shows. Why is yours showing such a low value for mWh used and high percentage of battery use?

    Is your battery older and possibly having a problem? Have you run a battery report on it lately?

    Hey datle8, but I was wondering how you expect the system to operate? Do you want to go to sleep while streaming and have it turned off later?

    Have you tried setting the sleep timer to a certain number and allow it to go into hibernation after that?

    I am currently running my system to get a log while streaming audio from a NAS unit. I have and older system so it may behave differently than yours. When I get the log, I will post back.

    Type in msinfo32 and press enter.

    i use spotify, and when i turn off spotify or youtube sleep mode works fine, the problem is how to turn off wifi when i put my laptop to sleep. If you turn off all sound apps and then go to sleep, it's terrible.

    and when I turn off spotify and issue in USB and NVMe ( 3% for 20min)

    Thank you for the screenshots explaining the problem.

    How do you listen to the Audio, is there network involved i.e. a streaming service?

    Have you tried reinstalling fresh and latest copies of the drivers for both, Audio and Network?
