Windows 11 battery draining in sleep mode

Hi everyone,

After the upgrade to Windows 11, I've found that my laptop won't go to sleep after closing the lid. The fan keeps making noise with the lid closed, and the battery is drained.

When opening the lid again, the computer won't respond to anything (blank screen, power button does nothing, keyboard doesn't respond), but it's active because the fan is working.

This was working fine before the upgrade and is a major problem, because the battery dies pretty quickly.

Laptop is a Lenovo IdeaPad 530 i7 8 GB ram.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks for the effort. Screen off actually is awake, not asleep.

    I did turn off network activity during Modern Standby by Group Policy and hopefully this makes things better. Lenovo aparently have a UEFI setting for sleep:Linux/Windows on new Thinkpads that changes b/w S0 and S3 but my Yoga doesn't have it.

    That's my point! This is the section exactly for that red one but it shows no particular offenders. It is always like this - sleep session labelled red but then all "offenders" are green with no concerns.

    A system in low power mode should not be running fans or getting how. You need for check what a sleep study report is and spend some time learning how to read it.

    powercfg /sleepstudy

    Copy the report to the desktop and open with a browser. Make note of where the report is kept after running the process.

    Also be aware certain Bluetooth devices can wake the system up. Possibly, something else is also capable of bring the system out of low power mode.

    Well as a start its a very bad idea to leave your device in sleep overnight, for many varied reasons. The device should be shutdown overnight

    You have updated drivers etc with the Lenovo update utility?
