Windows 11: Thumbnail previews do not show on folders

My folders are appearing as blank folder icons, where in Win 10 they showed thumbnail previews of the contents.

I've searched online for answers, and most appear to apply to earlier versions, and tell me to uncheck the 'icon only, no thumbnail' choice in View|Options, but that is already unchecked, so that is not the answer.

Does anyone have an actual working answer? Thanks if you do!

    I agree with everybody else that is complaining about this. To not have thumbnail previews is completely ridiculous for those of us who have hundreds if not thousands of folders on our systems.

    Yes, this same tool has been posted on here multiple times, and it's not optimal for two reasons. First, it isn't automatic like it was in Windows 10, or if it is, it doesn't work properly as of right now because if I removed or changed any images in folders, the folder icons didn't reflect those changes. Second, sometimes it simply doesn't actually add folder icons to subfolders. I'm assuming this is an image format thing, but even trying to manually change the individual folders that got skipped over does not work. Again, until this basic functionality is returned in Windows 11, I will stick to Windows 10 as 11 is not feasible to use for my work currently.
