My folders are appearing as blank folder icons, where in Win 10 they showed thumbnail previews of the contents.
I've searched online for answers, and most appear to apply to earlier versions, and tell me to uncheck the 'icon only, no thumbnail' choice in View|Options, but that is already unchecked, so that is not the answer.
Does anyone have an actual working answer? Thanks if you do!

2022-09-20T21:17:53+00:00 actually ya it works in the preview release so will work in the fall update also ,,any pic you set or preview is currently disabled, for same reason,
but both work in the release prereview, so the answer is the same for both, preview and selecting a pic to show manually,

I know that already, but I don’t want the picture file AS the icon, I want it ON the icon, as the OS shows it can be.
As it reads in Properties/Customize, “Select a file to show on this icon.”
As I wrote previously, they left the option there, but never completed it.
It’s a bug in the OS.

2022-09-20T19:20:25+00:00 Easy, save file as bitmap in paint, ren extension from .bmp to .ico ,go to properties of the folder and change icon to that file (pic)
