Windows 11 keeps dropping wifi

I have the same issue. I have updated the wi-fi adpater, rebooted router, performed all troubleshoot suggestions...and my account is synced. Still getting internet drop outs.

Does Microsoft actually read these posts??

I have had this issue in both W10 and W11 with 2 different PCs and 3 different routers.

I had the same problem with my laptop and it happened 2 times now. The 1st time it happened, I was connected to my prepaid wifi then suddenly there was an internet error, i tried reconnecting but no internet, my phone was surfing the web just fine so laptop was the prob. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting but there was error in connecting, so i tried restarting the laptop but that did not work and wifi settings disappeared. Thankfully, i had a LAN cable so I connected the laptop to the wifi, that did not immediately work but when i restarted both the laptop and wifi somehow the wifi settings was back to where it was supposed to be. Now, the second time it happened i was connected to our wifi at home, i did what i did the first time it happened but no matter how many times i restarted nothing happened. Then, I researched the net for tips how to solve this prob, ( fix that's more than just restarting cos it might be a serious prob already), I tried the troubleshoot setting fix, the device manager fix and had probably restarted my laptop for 10 times already but those did not work. What worked for me was the command prompt fix and hopefully the problem would not happen again or atleast just hoping the cmd prompt fix will the the work again next time.

Command prompt fix:

• search for CMD on search bar at bottom of screen or when you click start icon
• right click on command prompt then run as administrator
• type or copy and paste this command one by one:

netsh int ip reset

netsh advfirewall reset

netsh winsock reset

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

• restart your laptop

Hopefully this works for you too. And I do hope this gets a permanent fix in future software updates coz it's so troublesome.

Thanks for the reply. I will try this after it disconnects again. Oddly, it has been stable for two days since I changed the Power Mode to Best Performance...could be a coincidence, of course. But I'll try your fix. Thanks again.

Recently installed Windows 11. The wifi remains connected for sometime and then after some time drops. Nothing I do can reconnect again. Only a complete restart fixes the wifi and then after sometime the connection gets dropped again. What can I do to fix this?

Several issues can cause this problem. The correction described here in Woshub works if your device is displayed in the manger window. Unfortunately, the Device Manager entry for my device did not display the Power Management tab.

So, I changed the Advance tab Selective Suspend property value to Disable. See the screen shots below.

Prior to changing the Selective Suspend property value I researched this feature. Almost no information is available for this setting. Since the title is Selective Suspend, I assumed this is refers to a power time out. So, I tried this and the results are as follows.

I found after changing the Selective Suspend property value to Disable the WiFi icon is present in the lower right corner after restoring the computer from sleep mode. If “internet is not available” is displayed on the WiFi icon you can restart the connection from there. Note, the computer may take 30 seconds for the Windows 11 Operating System to reload and restart the 802.11 device following sleep mode.

Only once have I had to perform this procedure. And, I routinely Shut Down my computer. This has worked flawlessly for a week.
