Recently installed Windows 11. The wifi remains connected for sometime and then after some time drops. Nothing I do can reconnect again. Only a complete restart fixes the wifi and then after sometime the connection gets dropped again. What can I do to fix this?

Windows for home | Windows 11 | Windows update

The issue from my side was: Hour or so into meeting Google meet/ zoom / Teams WiFi disconnect. So a laptop that was bought for remote session purposes, wasn’t working as expected. So I wondered, why should I deal with it? Power option issues in Microsoft network adapters, were there in win7/win8 and probably in win10 as well… at least from my experience. So yes, I have ditched windows and switched to MacBook.

I hear you friend, I ditched Windows for a few years here recently, and started using Macintosh for my computing....

I finally left Apple, and came back to Windows after they started to block all 32bit applications with one of their unnecessary updates to MacOS. I know you can supposedly find alternatives for them all, but nothing I could find was as convenient / user friendly, plus the developers had abandoned many of the projects, so had not created a 64bit version. Apple's stuff is noticeably more expensive, but when you make your living from you computer, it can be worth it.

I am truthfully sorry I came back to Microsoft, after realizing that the Windows systems have continued to go downhill so badly. I thought Vista was bad, but the Microsoft guys are not content to ever stop 'Fixing' their stuff until it is nothing more than a virus. I mean how can the world's #1 computer company not understand how WifI works??

I guess 'keep fixing it until it's broke' has become their new motto!!

These steps do not fix the problem I suspect a power management problem in that the wifi adapter shuts down when the computer goes into sleep mode and then will not restart without shutting off the computer and restarting. The adapter comes back on when this is done. Did not have this problem before I upgraded with Windows 11.

    Hi all,

I have a great solution, but first:

    1. Power saving on adapter issue is probably the cause for disruption in wifi
    2. I do not have a power options under my WIFI adapter (apart of Dynamic MIMO power save)
    3. I just do not understand why Microsoft not solving this issue
    4. 1400$ Laptop for meetings and its disconnecting after an hour or so... No thanks!
    5. Issue persists at least 2 years now, it's just give an idea what Microsoft think about end user...
    6. Fix is very simple, disable sleep in network adapters as hardcoded option

Solution: Switched to Macbook and forgot the issues with Microsoft, I just tired to be Microsoft's QA, I do not need to pay 1400$ for Laptop and then conduct QA for Microsoft, I want 1400$ Laptop to work!
