Windows 11 keeps dropping wifi

My original post on this is that it happens to me on a desktop. I no longer have the problem since I bought a plug in USB network adapter and downloaded the latest version of 11. Now I still dont know what was the correction, hardware or software. But Im good for now

Everybody seems to be limiting this issue to laptops. Well, it happens big time on my desktop too. This is more than frustrating. It undermines productivity and my security system, both of which are important.

Update from us. We updated to the latest windows 11 last Friday, that had no success.

We then did the troubleshoot and reset network settings. That worked for the night but when the PC was shutdown and restarted the problem came back.

So we reset network settings again and it seemed to work. At the moment our solution looks like we have to reset the network setting every time we shutdown and turn the PC back on. Not ideal but I suppose at least it has my son able to play online games again.

Wifi and networking is too overly complicated for normal computer users. 20/40/80 probably isn't understood by most in this thread and yet its a part of wifi that's in use and there's a whole train of stuff. Wifi being complicated would of course explain why its long but that's a lot of this didn't work churn.

You must not remember Apple's "You're holding it wrong" poor connection quality due to the choices they made in their phones at the time :) Stuff happens.

Apple doesn't have magical hardware. It too sees problems same as anything else. You can look up Mac bugs and find people going through crazy problems no different than Windows such as *cough* a nearly identical post for wifi dropping so you're not alone :)

I cannot see how the Wifi security is the issue. I have no connection problems with Apple iPads or iPhones or a Google phone.

After having the tech come out from my ISP and tweak the modem a bit, things seem to be back on track, and although I am still having connection losses from time to time, it seems that it was because of a somewhat weak WiFi signal I am getting in my home office in the garage.

This appears to mean that my venom towards Microsoft Windows 11 may have been misplaced, however due to the rather large number of others who have had similar issues, I am not ready to let them completely off the hook for it completely as yet. Especially if this is an issue they also had with Windows 10.

As to the reply concerning the Apple devices, perhaps they have a stronger connectivity that is not provided in Microsoft devices, I cannot say, but I will say that after leaving Windows behind for the last few years, after that Vista debacle, I have not been overly impressed with my return to the PC market.

They are definitely cheaper though, but as my Grandfather used to say, 'You spend less, you get less'!!
