Yep. The typical non-solutions on the Microsoft forum. I have been using Windows since 1995 and I don't think I have ever seen a truly helpful answer here. But at least I know I am not alone.
Mine started two weeks ago. For no apparent reason, my PC simply freezes and needs a hard reboot. Doesn't matter if ide or being used. If idle, the screen is blank. If being used, the screen freezes and stays like that until rebooted
So far, I have done a memory check, a hardware check, a malware check. I changed monitors and cables and removed USB devices. Yesterday I did a clean reinstall. Nothing makes a difference.
The one thing so far that did help was booting up a USB stick running Linux. If I could only figure out how to connect it to my Windows network, I'd make the switch.
Next step: try to reinstall Windows 10....
