hey Lulu, I don't know for certain if it can cause damage, I looked at New Intel NUC Laptop User's post above where they mentioned malfunction after update. In my case, when the computer freezes, cpu (or GPU or both?) fan which is almost inaudible, goes into a full spin. It's a bit scary.
Windows 11 Constantly Crashing
Has anyone figured out a way to get the Windows 11 OS to stop crashing? My computer is near non-functional as I can't even use it for more than 10 minutes.
And honestly anyone looking into downloading Windows 11 should NOT download.
Over the past week or so that I've had Windows 11 my computer has crashed at least twice a day and today it's crashed 5 times right after start up.
Please help!

2023-02-02T01:03:12+00:00 HastyCT here with an update of my postings above 11/18/22 & 1/6/23: my problem seems to be fixed. I continued to research the error log of W11 "Event Viewer" (START right click), updating all 3rd party apps/drivers or deleting them. I kept updating W11 version per each notice from MS. I also ran PC hardware diagnostics on my Dell Inspiron 3910 (processor Intel i7-12700} that passed numerous times. Up to 1/6/23, incidence of PC freezes decreased but still got daily issues. New Years resolution to reset PC & reload W11 (with attendant pain of having to reload all my favorite 3rd party apps). On 1st boot, got my old enemy PC freeze, so not that version of W11 bad. On/about 1/20/23 received notice from Dell of a critical BIOS update & from MS release of version 22H2 of W11. In one "fell-swoop" I accomplished both updates & as of 2/1/23, have had no PC freezes (5 days of continuous 24 hour operation)!!! Can't say W11 or Dell BIOS update fixed the problem & time well tell if it is permanent. Good sign is that W11 "Event Viewer" error logs events are now virtually zero!
Hope this helps others & Best Regards.....Tom

2023-02-01T22:36:40+00:00 I have purchased 2 new laptops in the past year an HP and a Lenovo, I am having the same issue with both devices! I wish there was a fix for this issue as it is extremely frustrating to be in the middle of something and just randomly get the blue screen of death with a barcode to take a picture of. They should certainly have enough crash data from my systems alone.

2023-02-01T22:04:46+00:00 Interesting. Do you know for certain that the OS can cause hardware issues and crashes? I recently chatted with a MS tier 2 tech, who pointed to a hardware error message while diagnosing my issues. I'm wondering if Windows itself is creating the hardware errors - and if tech support might acknowledge that possibility. He suspected my MB (which is 6 months old). I suspect it's still a mystery. And, before I buy a new MB it would be nice to get some expert opinions.

2023-02-01T13:14:30+00:00 Wow, I just came to find a solution to W11 crashing my PC on a daily basis, turns out it's still garbage after 2 years of people complaining about it.. The most worrying part is it can cause hardware issues/malfunctions. My PC also goes into a full spin before I have to shut it down and restart.
Why do they try to add so many "improvements" instead of having a simpler but stable operating system?
