windows 11 with LG ultrawide monitor

I recently updated to Windows 11. I have a LG 34 inch ultrawide monitor (21:9 aspect ratio, 2560x1080 resolution). Windows 11 selects the generic Pnp monitor driver, which has a max 1920x1080 resolution, so the screen is fuzzy and stretched out - really unusable. LG does not have an updated driver, Windows 11 has all updates installed has no updates available related to this driver and it will only select this as the recommended resolution.

Is there no support for 2560x1080 HDMI monitors in windows 11?

    It usually helps to get the monitor to identify correctly. You can use the monitor drivers from LG. My monitor worked fine and did show its correct model in the Device Manager.

    I had the exact same problem, tried the windows 10 driver from LG, windows update, the AMD chipset software, none of it worked. What ended up making the trick was to connect both HDMI inputs on the monitor to my desktop which has 4 outputs, then one was detected 1920x1080 and another 2560x1080, I tried unplugging the one marked 1920x1080 and the 2560 will go back to 1920x1080, so I left it connected and disabled it. Now I have the best settings, though still wasting one HDMI port.

    I have just bought an LG Ultragear 32GP850-B monitor with G-Sync.

    Unfortunately Windows 11 only uses a Generic PNP driver in device manager.

    After searching the LG website and even contacting LG there are no drivers available for this monitor.

    In Nvidia control panel the monitor appears as LG Ultragear and next to the Generic in device manager (LG Ultragear)

    appears in Brackets. But unfortunately Windows 11 is using a Generic driver released in 2006 for this monitor and says its the best available.

    There is also no Windows 10 driver available. Anybody have any ideas what I can do? Having some issues with Monitor buttons stopping working after playing EA/Origin games. Steam games work fine.

    It worked for me.

    I have a surface pro 7, windows 11, and an LG 29WP500-B 29inch 21.9 Ultrawide Screen. I recently bought an usbC to HDMI adapter (without checking the Hz lol).

    At first I choose the window system/ display settings, with 2560 x 1080, it came out weird and stretched. It didnt work either when i toogle the LG monitor button with Aspect Ratio.

    So I downloaded Intel Graphics Command Centre after I saw your comment, and by just choosing 2560 x 1080 (recommended) on Intel, it suddenly pops all ratio in place.
