windows 11 with LG ultrawide monitor

I recently updated to Windows 11. I have a LG 34 inch ultrawide monitor (21:9 aspect ratio, 2560x1080 resolution). Windows 11 selects the generic Pnp monitor driver, which has a max 1920x1080 resolution, so the screen is fuzzy and stretched out - really unusable. LG does not have an updated driver, Windows 11 has all updates installed has no updates available related to this driver and it will only select this as the recommended resolution.

Is there no support for 2560x1080 HDMI monitors in windows 11?

    I have monitor LG 29WP500-B UltraWide Monitor 29

    Laptop Dell 7400 2 in 1

    Windows 11 (uptated from 10)

    In my case the problem was solved setting refresh rate to 74.99Hz

    Follow the next steps

    > Display Settings

    > Select your monitor
    > Display resolution: Recomended (2560 x 1080)

    > Advanced display

    > Select your display

    > Choose a refresh rate: 74.99Hz (if you support 60hz then set it)

    After trying several suggestions about updating driver but did not work, I finally for this solution that works for me: Instead of using HDMI to HDMI or USB-C to USB-C, I tried Display Port to USB-C cable, guess what: It works! Give it a try everyone. My setup is: Dell Inspiron & LG 38 Inch Ultrawide.

    I know about the pnp driver. I call it the picture in picture driver because it actually acts as one. I know the pnp driver forces the "desktop to have refresh issues and set a lower resolution for your desktop environment. If you uninstall the driver and reboot it will fix a few things. I know its kind of scary to think about uninstalling the driver. If you are scared to do it just hit disable to test it. I would definitely check for the lg driver even if it is an older version install it. Maybe in the box you got a cd or something that has the driver on it. If the pnp driver says Microsoft driver it is 100% the wrong driver because that is not lg.

    If you are using an adapter, make sure it can support high resolution. I had an adapter that could handle 4k at 30 hz that did not work but I just purchased a new adapter that supports 4k at 60hz that works up to 3840x2160 on my computer

    I have a USB-C to HDMI adapter that can support up to 4k at 60hz that solved the problem. My previous adapter could only support 4k at 30 hz and I had the same issue. I even entered the custom resolution on Intel Graphics Command Center and could not get it to work.
