windows 11 with LG ultrawide monitor

Laptop Dell 7400 2 in 1

Windows 11 (uptated from 10)

In my case the problem was solved setting refresh rate to 74.99Hz

Follow the next steps

> Display Settings

> Select your monitor
> Display resolution: Recomended (2560 x 1080)

> Advanced display

> Select your display

> Choose a refresh rate: 74.99Hz (if you support 60hz then set it)

You saved my a*s, man! Thank you! Two days of struggle - changing bios setting, drivers, performance modes, new cables... Nothing worked. Then I just overclocked the monitor from 60 to 75Hz and it WORKED! I owe you a beer!

I had to use the generic PnP driver and the 74.99% refresh rate to make it right.

Not sure if this was mentioned anywhere here, but for me it turns out the problem was not the driver, but the HDMI cable I was using. I kept whatever old HDMI cable I had on my old monitor, and ran into all the usual "wrong resolution" / "no higher resolutions availble" issues. Turns out no all HDMI cables are the same, who knew.. (everybody probably). Switching to the privided DisplayPort cable fixed all issues. I didn't go back and try the HDMI cable that was in the box, might work fine as well.

Edit: this was connecting a Surface Laptop Studio (i5, iGPU) to the 35WN65C-B.AUS via an Anker 11-in-1 USB-C dock.

I also have a LG 34 inch ultrawide monitor (21:9 aspect ratio, 2560x1080 resolution).

During the update following the Windows 11 update, the same thing happened to me.

I followed the top rated comment to reinstall the old Windows 10 LG drivers. I also got them from here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/software-firmware-drivers?customerModelCode=24GL600F-B&csSalesCode=24GL600F-B.AUS&category=CT10000030&subcategory=CT10000033 

It didn't seem to make a difference. I also restarted, no difference.

I then accidentally bumped and disconnected my windows Surface Dock 2, that is used to connect my surface 2 laptop with two external monitors. For reasons that make no sense to me, that disconnection and reconnection of the dock made the drivers take affect and suddenly it switched to 2560x1080 resolution and the LG Ultrawide screen looked perfect.

If you're using a surface dock 2, you might try to disconnect and reconnect it after making sure the LG drivers are installed. Not sure why that caused things to work?

I have a surface pro 7, windows 11, and an LG 29WP500-B 29inch 21.9 Ultrawide Screen. I recently bought an usbC to HDMI adapter (without checking the Hz lol).

At first I choose the window system/ display settings, with 2560 x 1080, it came out weird and stretched. It didnt work either when i toogle the LG monitor button with Aspect Ratio.

So I downloaded Intel Graphics Command Centre after I saw your comment, and by just choosing 2560 x 1080 (recommended) on Intel, it suddenly pops all ratio in place.
