Windows 11 only has 45% of random write speed in Nvme SSD

As you see above, the other performance is about the same, but in RND 4K Q32 T16 the speed has dropped significantly. I know that because the two software versions are different and the condition of the computer is different, it is normal for the performance to fluctuate, but this performance also dropped too much, and the performance remained stable low after many tests at different times.

    i set up a win 10 virtual system in oracle virtualbox.

    and even with the systen running in a virtual layer in ahci mode. my drive was over 3000MBs and over 2500MBs but in win 11 installed on bare metal im only getting over 900MBs write speeds.

    im no expert, (im studying for my CIsco network enterprise cert with the open university, but 30yrs building pcs and a degree in java programming and digital technology), but win 11 defo seems to have a problem in its nvme device driver.

    im wiping my pc and going back to windows 10. until this is all sorted out. too many bugs with ryzen systems.

    is this an intel bias thing?

    my n4020 laptop with a samsung nvme 512gb drive at gen3x2 is getting higher write speeds than my desktop system at gen3x4.

    addlink s70 1 tb drive (3400 read 3000 write).

    ryzen 3700

    5700xt

    32gb 3200mhz crucial memory

    msi carbon b450 ac pro board.

    (tried pcie in bios at 8x8 and 8x4x4 and auto, all up to date amd chipset and video drivers)

    Maybe not if the sequential write benchmark is done with a small number of large writes (or even many small writes that the filesystem or driver can merge into few big ones). But that's just a wild guess, I don't exactly have the source code for the drivers in front of me :)

    By any chance did you check your 3DMark PCI Express scores? In my system I have a significantly lower score in this benchmark: ~23.5 GB/s before, down to ~14.2 GB/s now. I can't be sure if that's just Win10->Win11 since in the meantime I also added a secondary SSD, too lazy to mess with my system now just to make some benchmarks. But if someone here has a dual-boot Win10+Win11 system, or has kept PCIe benchmark scores before/after each upgrade, this would be interesting to validate. Might be AMD-specific considering the chipset problems for Win11 they already fixed but maybe it's not fully fixed yet, and it could be impacting these NVMe benchmarks at very high IOPs.
