I have the same Issue with a Lenovo Yoga 2-in-1-Laptop. Unfortunately I cannot find the value "run" in my registry. Could you maybe provide the path?
Item checkboxes cannot be disabled on windows 11
I recently upgraded to windows 11 on my laptop, and I can't disable item check boxes in the file explorer.
Disabling item check boxes works on the desktop, but not in the file explorer (see attached screenshot).
I have tried disabling "Use check boxes to select items" in folder settings, and changing the value of HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\AutoCheckSelect to 0 in the registry, both of which do not solve the problem.
Any help would be much appreciated :)

2021-12-21T03:11:44+00:00 I FIXED IT!!!!
I purchased three Windows 11 devices for family members for Christmas. I performed clean installs on all of them. Two of them are 2-in-1 units. One installed perfectly without issue. The other installed almost perfectly, with the exception of this issue.
The checkboxes cannot be disabled and compact mode cannot be enabled.
Windows 11 determines if a unit is in tablet (touch) mode and sets checkboxes ON and compact view OFF, all on it's own. Which makes sense. And is great, when it works. But like you, mine was stuck in this mode despite having a keyboard connected and not rotated.
After trying to force it into "laptop mode", I finally started disabling services and killing processes.
First I updated all of the drivers by going to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options and installing Optional Updates which included drivers and BIOS... then rebooted.
Finally in the registry, set to run on startup is the "Realtek Audio Universal Service". I deleted this registry entry and BINGO!!! It works.
Right click on the Start button and click RUN.
Then type "regedit" and hit enter.
Select and highlight the HKEY_CURRENT_USER node and then type CTRL+F or Edit>Find.
In the "Find what" box, enter "run" with the quotes.
Check Keys, uncheck Values, uncheck Data, and check "Match whole strings only".
When you come across an entry with value="RtkAudUService"... delete it.
Restart.
Fixed.

2021-12-14T05:00:57+00:00 You have to reinstall the original Windows 10 OS then use the upgrade assistant to update to Windows 11. Check CHUWI's forums for the download link, I posted it there last week as AbsoluteZero

2021-12-14T03:38:36+00:00 Eh, nope, my device was deemed compatible by MS own system check tool and after upgrading to Windows 11 I'm having this problem. It's a Chuwi Ubook X Tablet PC but from what I can tell, others are having same issue in different brands, like Lenovo Yoga devices, so it's a Windows problem.
My desktop PC is an assembled Ryzen 3 2200G CPU, which is listed as incompatible and I don't have any problem there, so your argument is bogus.

2021-12-05T20:47:17+00:00 Just uninstall. MS does stuff like this all the time to try and make you think you have problems. I am sure all this is fixable, even probably by the user, but who knows what reg tweak to make or what driver to roll back to?
This is an MS inflicted, intentional bug to try and keep systems off that arent compatible. They know about it, they wont fix it.
this is not true because my laptop is a windows 11 laptop and I also have this problem with my laptop that came pre-installed with Windows 11 and I'm not able to turn off checkboxes even with them disabled in the registry.
