Windows 11 file explorer is slow and lag

Thank you so much for this post!!! It will help me a lot. File Explorer response seems to be much improved.

Performance is nearly instantaneous when navigating local folders and folders on OneDrive.

While performance for has been greatly improved for SharePoint synced folders, it still takes 3 seconds ("1-one thousand, 2-one thousand, 3-one thousand") to open a folder there. The Preview for the Windows update says, "Addresses some issues that affect File Explorer’s performance when you browse for files and select files.". This makes me think that there are more issues to be corrected to get back to the performance from Windows 10.

That said, I am very happy they have turned a crippling problem into much less significant (but still important to fix) performance hit.

Yes, I can say the same. F11 definitely makes the problem disappear. No lag at all. But, of course, it’s no solution. In any but fullscreen view some steps back into History are incredibly slow, especially if I change width of a column in Details View. I must wait almost 13 secs!

Very slow and laggy on onedrive again

Windows 11 File Explorer sucks. It sucks. It is horrible.

Also, this issue has TOO many forums, too many blog posts trying to answer (and the most read shows at the top, or at least the person google approves of, and not necessarily the most recent or correct).

My System is up to date. Only an idiot would ever apply a fix before it is pushed out to everyone.

What's more, Microsoft has NOWHERE to post problems, get updates, etc.

PF11 doesn't work for me - they need to fix this ****. Customers should not settle for this.

If anyone knows a site where you can actually contact a Microsoft Customer Support person or at least report a problem so they will work on it, let me know.
