Windows 11 file explorer is slow and lag. When using the up and down arrows it goes very slow compared to windows 10 which is super fast. It is also slow when opening folders as well as selecting either with the mouse or with shift + arrows.

    As of December 30, my computer still suffers from this issue even though I have updated my Windows operating system. I am wondering if you guys also have the problem or it has been resolved in the latest version of Windows.

    Mine is well updated to the latest and the problem remains the same, just work around it and have the old file explorer

    Installed on ‎27/‎10/2021

    I uninstalled the OneDrive app on Windows then the problem was fixed

    My onedrive was erased a long time ago, the problem still persists.

    Hello,

    Fresh Install an same problem.

    I can confirm joaocarlospp1997 fix work for me. No more lag and wait:

    "Download this reg file from the tutorial above: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/downloads/DEECBW11.zip

    • Once downloaded, extract its contents and double-click on Disable Explorer Command Bar.reg to merge it with your existing registry settings
    • Confirm the UAC warning prompt and click on ‘Ok’ to permit the merge"

    This is strange, i have 5 PC on W11 in my family and just on this one i have the problem and need this temp fix.

    With this reg and the app startallback with explorer set to W10, all is fully available (but W10 style ribon)

    Still have the problem. I did, however, notice that if you navigate folders in the folder tree, instead of double clicking folders in the file frame, navigation is quick.

    same problem guys. and additionally, whenever I am renaming any file it's closing my file explorer. I am a developer for me it's like hell feelings. I beg to windows authority. stop launching new windows before checking it and please fix this problem asap..
