Good news: I've updated my W11 (Enterprise) today using this recent cumulative update and the problem seems fixed :) (it is much smoother than before the update)

Windows 11 file explorer is slow and lag. When using the up and down arrows it goes very slow compared to windows 10 which is super fast. It is also slow when opening folders as well as selecting either with the mouse or with shift + arrows.

I uninstalled ONEDRIVE application, rebooted, and then reinstalled. It seems to be working properly for now at least.
I tried also. First everything went fast again. After synchronizing the shares of the different teams (about 17) explorer was lag again...

2022-01-21T13:44:03+00:00 I rolled back to window 10. Let Microsoft stable the problem then I will upgrade to windows 11. Plenty of time left to upgrade to win 11. Windows 10 start menu is my favorite. Why did Microsoft disable it, I am so confused about it..

2022-01-21T12:16:14+00:00 YES!! So slow! I'm glad to hear I am not the only one experiencing this. I upgraded 2 weeks ago and it has been terrible! I will download a file and try to open explorer to see it and it takes 10 MINUTES or MORE!
