I want to keep the widget on my task bar, however I don't want the new stories to show. I've hide a bunch of them and they still end up showing, but I'm constantly having to hide them all since there are sooooo many. How do I disable the top stories, and the news and interest without turning off my widgets. I ONLY want the weather to show.

I've uninstalled microsoft news but I'm still seeing the news stories.

With the February update to Windows 11 - you have the option to disable MS start to feed from the Widget Settings. Requires Windows 11 23H2 at least.

I would suggest that you completely remove the the Widgets app from your taskbar - see here -and pin the Weather App to Start / Taskbar.

I feel the control on me and I cannot seem to get Microsoft working on my husband's old, big computer that I'd like to use but not available since he died in 2021! They won't let me remove Brian's name and insist only on ******@xplornet.com email to get in. I don't need that email anymore because I moved and cannot seem to explain to people we all use Cogeco in this apartment building. I also don't want all the news feed. For one thing ,I bought Microsoft Office 365 most years, because I write children's books. One year Brian paid and now the system won't acknowledge my own email as the only owner.

Thanks for the good steps about getting rid of Bing's news. I prefer Google Chrome really. Most webinars for writers seem to be on it and prefer it. too.

Thanks Seth for clarifying what is right there in the question. We want to keep the widgets and GET RID OF THE NEWS.

If that is not possible, let's put it on the feedback hub.
