Cumulative updates June 2021

UPDATE: Fixed it with in place upgrade using 21H1 ISO.

OS: Windows 10 Pro 19041.985

I'm having problem installing update KB5003637.

The update installed and I clicked Restart.
The screen show the update screen and it restart at 1%.
After restart the screen show the Windows logo with a spinning icon,
Then the Windows logo is gone the the spinning icon is still there.
Mouse and keyboard is responsive but there is no hard disk activity.
I pushed restart button.
Get back to Windows and get an error 0x8007010B.

Checked CBS log and the error is:
• Doqe: Recording result: 0x8007010b, for Inf: xinputhid.inf
• DriverUpdateStageUpdates failed [HRESULT = 0x8007010b - ERROR_DIRECTORY]
• Doqe: Failed staging driver updates [HRESULT = 0x8007010b - ERROR_DIRECTORY]

Repeated multiple times with the same result.

Checked the C;|WIndows\INF forlder, the file is there with 12674 bytes.

What I did:
• SFC returned good
• DISM restorehealth returned good
• CHKDSK returned fixed
• Reset Windows update
• Download from Windows Update Catalog and install.

Anyone please help.

I'm finally able to use my computer again. It's late afternoon on the second day of this nightmare. I wish you people at Microsoft would test things before you put them out as updates. I'm scared of you. And I'm scared of updates.

Oh, yes. I also use an icon on my system task bar to change from headset to speakers and back. I'm sure that the longer I try to operate in this terrible state, the more I will find functionality that is now difficult or impossible to access.

I have an additional problem beyond the one that I reported before. Not only has my system task bar disappeared again, in spite of removing that upgrade, but one of my most important pieces of software has become nonfunctional. I'm disabled after a stroke, and I have been successfully working with Dragon dictation software since. Although my typing ability has been coming back, I still rely on dictation every day, and I'm sorry, but Google speech doesn't work well enough for me.

You can see that I'm typing these days, but it's difficult and time-consuming for me. In addition, Dragon dictation is a function that is turned on and off with an icon in the system task bar. I also control several other functions that I use daily that way, such as turning my screen saver app on and off through a system task bar icon or turning on an app that allows me to hotkey Spanish letters.

All of these things are now nonfunctional. As a disabled person, Microsoft has done violence against me, today. What's wrong with you people? Have you no shame?

There is a problem. I have 4 computers. On the first three, from Windows update, I did the KB updates KB5003637, KB5003254 .NET framework and cumulative 20H2 updates first. When I did that, the option to update to 21H1 disappeared seemingly permanently.

So on my fourth computer I did the 21H1 update first, and that went fairly smoothly, only took a few minutes, and then later the KB updates which took a while.

So then on one of the first computers I used the Windows Upgrade tool to update to the 21H1, since it was no longer available through Windows update, even after running the update troubleshooter. It started to install normally, then took hours to finish the installing section. Then when it went to "restart" for install, it gives you the dreaded "undoing changes made to your computer" and my computer then shut down unexpectedly when it shouldn't have. So the 21H1 install failed, and I still don't have an option in "Windows Update" to do it.

What the heck guys?? Why do they roll multiple update options out when they haven't even tested to see if they are compatible??? Do the programmers even test this stuff??? Now I have no idea what "corruptions" have occured.
