MSI GS65 keyboard backlight not working after latest windows 10 update KB5003637.

I tried everything I could think of. Reinstalling steelseries software, uninstalling the windows update, nothing worked. After getting the update the steelseries software had lost connection to the keyboard (as in it was showing it was disconnected). After reinstalling the software it is now registering the keyboard but the backlight is still not working. It's not working at any point neither before loading windows nor after. Before it was lighting up immediately after pressing the "on" button. Any ideas beside "try pressing fn + some other key", because I tried that and it's not working.

I didn't notice this problem because I prefer to use a normal sized second keyboard, rather than the one on my laptop, but after reading it, I realized that although I've rolled back the update, my keyboard backlight isn't on, either. It used to always come on. In my office, I don't need it, but if I were in a darker area on vacation or traveling, I would.

Have you tried booting in safe mode?

    Good Day,

I was just exploring some of the new features of the recent Windows 10 update, and I noticed you could turn the setting under 'News and Interests' to 'Show Icon Only'. I was thinking it may be a bit more functionally efficient if you added a feature that would display a small pop-up window on the cursor when the icon is moused over, displaying things like the temperature, the high and low for the day, maybe a brief forecast of wind/precipitation/humidity. Call me old-fashioned, but I enjoy a good summary. I wasn't sure if this was the place to come with comments about the new updates as far as voicing opinions about functionality, but this is where it's going.

    Thanks!

    TC

    Hi,

A better place to put your comments and/or suggestions is with the MS Feedback Hub, Categories -> Desktop environment, Subcategories -> News and Interests.

You can enter problems or suggestions there.

Assuming you unchecked "Open on Hover" , the mouse over the icon just displays the name on the program, the behavior is like all the other icons on the Taskbar.
