This is a summary of the cumulative updates released on July 13th for all the supported consumer releases of Windows 10.

When using the Microsoft Japanese Input Method Editor (IME) to enter Kanji characters in an app that automatically allows the input of Furigana characters, you might not get the correct Furigana characters. You might need to enter the Furigana characters manually.<br><br>NoteThe affected apps are using the ImmGetCompositionString() function. We are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
Devices with Windows installations created from custom offline media or custom ISO image might have Microsoft Edge Legacy removed by this update, but not automatically replaced by the new Microsoft Edge. This issue is only encountered when custom offline media or ISO images are created by slipstreaming this update into the image without having first installed the standalone servicing stack update (SSU) released March 29, 2021 or later.<br><br>NoteDevices that connect directly to Windows Update to receive updates are not affected. This includes devices using Windows Update for Business. Any device connecting to Windows Update should always receive the latest versions of the SSU and latest cumulative update (LCU) without any extra steps. To avoid this issue, be sure to first slipstream the SSU released March 29, 2021 or later into the custom offline media or ISO image before slipstreaming the LCU. To do this with the combined SSU and LCU packages now used for Windows 10, version 20H2 and Windows 10, version 2004, you will need to extract the SSU from the combined package. Use the following steps to extract the using SSU:<br><ol type="1"><li style="margin-left: 0"><p>Extract the cab from the msu via this command line (using the package for KB5000842 as an example): <b>expand Windows10.0-KB5000842-x64.msu /f:Windows10.0-KB5000842-x64.cab <destination path></b></p></li><li style="margin-left: 0"><p>Extract the SSU from the previously extracted cab via this command line: <b>expand Windows10.0-KB5000842-x64.cab /f:* <destination path></b></p></li><li style="margin-left: 0"><p>You will then have the SSU cab, in this example named <b>SSU-19041.903-x64.cab</b>. Slipstream this file into your offline image first, then the LCU.</p></li></ol><br>If you have already encountered this issue by installing the OS using affected custom media, you can mitigate it by directly installing the new Microsoft Edge.     July 2021 build once again caused network computers to no longer show in File Explorer. I have not found a solution.

    1. Network Discovery is all set to ON (the basics for Networking)
    2. SMBv1 is enabled (an earlier fix)
    3. IPv6 disabled (another fix)
    4. Multicast turned off (the latest workaround)
    5. No third party antivirus (and Windows Defender turned off) Another "fix"

    All the typical methods seem to no longer work. NET VIEW /ALL gives the 6118 error

    Anyone else? Any fixes?

    Update KB5004237

    Is anyone else experiencing significant computer lag with CPU running at 100% pretty consistently since installing update KB5004237?

    I have uninstalled it and my computer is working fine again. I have plenty of storage so that is not the problem. Any thoughts?

    After my computer updated recently, the Japanese IME reverted back to qwerty, which is quite annoying as now I can't type in Japanese and is hindering my workflow. I checked the Registry input file for Japanese and it still was the Colemak file (Colemak2.dll) instead of the default KBDJPN.dll. I tried resetting and re-entering it, but nothing seems to be working. Anyone else experiencing the same issue? If you have a solution, please let me know asap.

    The updates recently installed were:

    • Windows 10 version 21H1 (May update)
    • Quality update 2021-06
    • Quality update 2021-07

    Windows edition: Windows 10 Education

    Windows update is telling there are security and quality updates, but none appear so they can be updated. It is causing issues with my work system, and Im missing work...please help!!

    I only use English so perhaps I'm not the best one to answer, but I found the following.

    May be worth a look to see if any of the four possible solutions helps you. I know you said you did try some things with no success.

    The fourth one says to uninstall and reinstall the Japanese language. Not sure you tried that. Hoping someone with more knowledge
