Windows update fails to install 2021-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H1 for x64-based Systems (KB5004237)

Good day,

I have attempted numerous times to install windows update 2021-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H1 for x64-based Systems (KB5004237) on my system. It fails regardless of the various command to shut down and restart services. The error code is: 0x80073712

When I went to the Windows Catalog, this version would not load. It said that it was not for my system. What is attempting to load is a different version of KB5004237, but that too failed.

Is there a way to fix or bypass this update?

Thank you

Ok, what happens when you double-click on the media creation tool setup/.exe? You should see the Windows installation.

Before, it did nothing, now it wants to delete my applications. Not a good option for me.

That can mean the version downloaded doesn’t match the installed version - I.e. Home is installed but Pro downloaded.
Are you running Home or Pro?
