Good day,
I have attempted numerous times to install windows update 2021-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H1 for x64-based Systems (KB5004237) on my system. It fails regardless of the various command to shut down and restart services. The error code is: 0x80073712
When I went to the Windows Catalog, this version would not load. It said that it was not for my system. What is attempting to load is a different version of KB5004237, but that too failed.
Is there a way to fix or bypass this update?

2021-07-19T17:56:39+00:00 The thing is nobody wants to reinstall Windows simply because a single Windows Update package is failing to install and there are numerous other users experiencing the exact same issue.
Other Windows Update packages have installed without error so Windows Update in general appears to work correctly. There is something about this specific package that is causing a failure for users.

2021-07-19T17:49:35+00:00 I'm having the same problem as well. Dell Inspiron 5570 laptop is caught in a never-ending cycle of trying to install the "2021-07 Cumulative Update". My observation is it gets to 100% installed and pauses for a really long time then declares that the installation failed:
Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error code: (0x80073712)
I've tried looking at the WindowsUpdate log files but those are pretty much useless.

Have you tried the suggestion to reset Windows updates?
Did you try the in-place repair? You would download the tool, then run the setup & then choose to install Windows, it will then offer to install updates & allow you to keep apps & files (everything) then allow the tool to reinstall Windows. It will not state you’re up to date.
