2021-09-10T20:35:41+00:00 Had a play about with windows defender on the laptop which has a i3 6100U in it with TPM 2.0 enabled and it turns out VBS can be enabled by turning on memory core isolation. This is most likely going to be software based however if DMA is enabled in the bios then core isolation is automatically enabled so it does answer a few questions. Tried it on the main machine but no luck yet. Apparently to do with driver compatibility

2021-09-10T18:46:43+00:00 Been looking at that myself as well. Windows defender I think enables it through memory core isolation but will depend on your PC being able to support it but I don't know if this has anything to do with DMA and this is only speculation at this point. If your sysinfo is the same as mine then it looks like as it stands currently DMA and VBS aren't supported. Don't know much on what Acer and MSI are doing as they could be waiting on seeing what other board manufacturers are doing first before they take the plunge. Gigabyte will most likely start testing soon from what I've seen there and Asus have already started testing boards. so we may see DMA kernal protection and VBS with Asus soon possibly as they've only put the update up to enable TPM 2.0 by default but as they test them they may add support for DMA and VBS in the final version. The link below will tell you what asus boards are being tested there so it might be worth taking a look.
