Cannot see own wireless network but can see others around me

Hi all,

Seemingly after last Windows update (though I'm not sure) I cannot see my own wireless network on my home laptop. I can see all the networks of my neighbors, but not my own.

I can see it and connect to my wireless network with my Work laptop. My partner can see it and connect to it with her two laptops and her smartphone.

I checked the wireless network adapter (Realtek RTL8723AE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC) and when I click Properties and then Configure, the General tab says "This device is working properly." However, when I look at the icon in the Control Panel under Network Connections there is a big red X next to the Wi-Fi icon and it says "Not Connected".

When I click the Diagnose button the result is "You have not chosen to connect to any of the available networks" (and I can't since I don't know the security keys for those networks). Then skipping to the next step, the next window says "None of the networks you have previously connected to are in range"

Any advice?

    this is really solved my 3 month hassel issue ... thx alo. i switched the wireless mode (Transmission mode) from 802.11g/n/ax to to 802.11b/g/n and it works perfectly!

    This worked for me.

    Right click on start/windows button.

    Click device manager

    Select Network Adaptors

    In my case there were 10 options I selected the wireless LAN

    In the properties window, select the driver tab

    Click 'Disable Device' and click YES in the warning box

    Then select 'Enable Device'

    And all should hopefully be well. I tried this when I couldn't update the driver because I was offline.

    Same problem. Laptop showed all other WiFi networks but not my own.

    WiFi network adapter is dual band AC3160 that is end of life.

    I've performed all the suggested solutions but only the change to Microsoft Driver worked.

    Windows 10 Dell Precision machine:

    'Show available networks' listed only a few preexisting WiFi networks, wouldn't recognize or list any others (phone hotspots, new WiFi router...other known-existent networks which appeared on other PCs/tablets/phones etc.).

    Tried & failed over the many suggestions online (resetting WiFi adapter, deleting/reinstalling wireless drivers, deleting/writing registry files, reestablishing device drivers, changing any setting that could possibly affect WLAN security, many restarts, etc. etc.). No results.

    Finally ordered and installed new MPE-AXE3000H 6E WLAN card, $17 eBay, downloaded requisite Intel drivers, restarted - voila! Considerably faster than the original AC7260.

    May have been corrupt driver/registry/other file and maybe there's a free fix buried somewhere, but I spent 10x the cost of the $17 component in precious/wasted time.

    Just had this problem today. What I did was I updated the driver and everything went ok! Good luck!
