Blue screen: HTTP.sys error

    I was able to find an older version cache din my driver cache and I replaced the new bad version with that old version and have not had a single issue since.

    Started getting blue screen issue when running the VS2019 and IIS express apps.

    It appears that the issue is raised after I have installed both those packages.

    To control the installed MS Windows updates (delaying for a few months) I usually doing the manual Windows updates and have noticed that installation for both of those packages was failed a few times. The next day it went through un-noticed somehow.

    I have resolved the blue screen issue in the following way:

    1. Go to the "C:\Windows\WinSxS" folder.
    2. Locate the http.sys file in the sub-folder which having the version number 10.0.19041.985 in the long sub-folder’s name.
    3. Replace current http.sys file in the "C:\Windows\System32" folder with the older version 10.0.19041.985. If replacing will required permission from the TrustedInstaller then grant permission to the pc user having an admin rights. It could be accomplished in two steps: first, change the owner of the http.sys file and second, grant full control to the new file’s owner.

    So far, it holds water… 

    Microsoft, please resolve the issue ASAP. It’s getting annoying…
