Blue screen: HTTP.sys error

recently started getting blue screen error when running Visual Studio 2019 and IIS Express application

    I too having the same prob with VS2019, ASPNET , IISExpress. please confirm the proper solution for this issue.

    I had this same exact issue.  Windows 10 Home - 20H2 update, VS2019, IIS Express, Chrome.  On debugging, would get BSOD.

    As suggested, replace http.sys (using safe mode) with version 10.0.19041.985 seems to resolve the BSOD.

    http.sys version 10.0.19041.1023 seems to cause the error in question.

    Thank you zacuke for posting this approach. I didn't want to trust your file but I was able to do a file search on my laptop and inside some update files there existed the "good" version which you highlighted above (build 985), and so I was able to extract that version, then edit permissions for the "bad" http.sys so that I could rename the file, and then copy the good file over top of it.  

    Unfortunately this did not resolve my issue, my first web project debugged fine but the 2nd project BSOD immediately. It's possible there is another version of http.sys that is being run by IIS express and that the one I replaced is not the one being used .

    Update 6/29/2021: When I tested this file replace solution, I had not restarted my machine yet. After that first BSOD, it has not happened since so that is now going on over a week I have not had the issue. So wanted to post that update that zacuke's approach DID actually resolve my issue, I just needed to restart the machine after the replace and rename of the HTTP.sys file.

    Replace the http.sys with an older version to stop the blue screen.

    HTTP.SYS 10.0.19041.985 = GOOD - Link to good version (I got this from my laptop that hadn't updated yet): https://paste.c-net.org/LarchOffered

    Exact same thing here.  Working on a web forms project in VS2019 on Win10 using IIS Express to debug.  Shortly after starting to debug i get a BSOD referencing http.sys.  It doesn't happen every time. Hope someone at MS is seeing this.  The BSOD just started to occur after the most recent updates were installed.
