KB5003690 BSOD

Not so fast! On installing this update.

Installed KB5003690 (tried) on five rigs. Three no issue, one refused to install, and worst of all one started BSOD constantly after installing. Removed from that rig and all was fine and returned to normal. Reinstalled KB5003690 to verify this was the issue and yes, the BSOD issues returned, again uninstalled and all returned normal again. I'm satisfied in saying that KB5003690 is / was the issue.

    I googled this KB# and BSOD and found this thread. Just wanted to let you know I had the same issue. The PC would boot and run for about 30 seconds and then dump (everytime.) I had to use a restore point via safe mode. Trying to uninstall the KB would always fail and changes reverted (again via safe mode.) I have no minidump files, as I will guess CC cleaner deleted it. Sorry, not willing to go down that path again, but wanted to let you know this is probably a wider problem than you think.

    Can confirm, installed KB5003690 yesterday.

    I've had more BSOD's than I've had the last 2 years the last 24 hours, seems like random BSOD every 30-60 mins (or sometimes a bit longer).

    Uninstalled now, currently working as normal (fingers crossed).

    Since my original posting I've had no issues after uninstalling. It seems to work for some of us. The wushowhide.diagcab that I mentioned from "Major Geeks" can't hide the update till it comes off of preview listing. Which I still show as an optional update.

    Installed the June update yesterday, got a lot of printing errors followed by BSOD. Happens again and again after rebooting. Re-installed the print drivers, no effect.     After reinstalling issue came back, screwed up a few things and just used an image and reinstalled OS. So not testing no more.

    To others might want to use this when the update comes out of preview. https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/wushowhide.html

    To hide the update from installing.
