Thank you for this. I was able to unbrick the computer following your instructions, which I had to modify slightly. I could get the point of being able to change the file names of Utilman and Cmd, by using a bootable Windows USB drive. From there I could access the Windows Recovery Screen and get the BitLocker prompt. Once I did that, I could get to that Windows Explorer-type folder and make the necessary changes, As you did, had to follow the instructions again to go back through Windows Recovery to change them back. It wasn't that easy to get it done, but it was a lot easier than your 5000 restarts to figure out how to do this. A Lifesaver!
This bug is very preventable, but as you can see by the date of this post, Microsoft has not fixed it since you discovered this workaround 2 1/2 years ago.
