Very unfortunate this problem continues. Personally, I feel that Microsoft should have by now addressed this problem. It currently exists as it happened to me less than a month ago. Using diagnostic mode, and then restart equaled unusable device - for me.
I appreciate this forum/blog being available, but the information contained in it: 1. is not always accurate. 2. May or may not be applicable, depending on operating system version/build. 3. Is moderated by volunteers who I’m sure don’t have the time to, but should review the information for accuracy/validity.
Shortnsweet version: it’s a known issue and has been. Microsoft should have implemented a Fix, a solution, a recovery or an option of any kind. Just a simple pop-up when clicking on diagnostic mode should at least be available.
I am still having issues related to this.
Most recently, about four days ago, Microsoft support accessed my computer, with my permission, due to a constant message r/t windows hello not being set up. The representative made changes, very quickly and without making a restore point, and then told me to reboot my system and re-join the remote access session with a shortcut that the rep put on my desktop. When I restarted my computer I was completely locked out!! The ability to even enter a PIN was now gone. Having the case number emailed to me I was able to respond / reply. I did so many times. I included details related to what happened as well as just simply saying “help.“ Results??? Wall as today June 3 at 6:57 PM EDT. NO ONE HAS REPLIED.
