Cumulative updates January 2021

Apple did brick most of the macs with Big Sur 11.1 from Big Sur 11.0.1 security updates. That include the current line up of Apple Silicon M1 Chip and the Intel Macs. I had my mac mini brick while updating to Big Sur 11.1. And it takes me to figure things out about 3 days. I have issues with updating to the latest Big Sur 11.1. And it is not a joke. I still think that Big Sur is some how bloated. And it is running dead too slow on my mac mini. 

If you intend to jump Apple macs, you need to wait and see approach as Apple might be Updating their Apple Silicon Macs just like selling an iPhones. And I am concern that if you get on of those Apple Silicon Macs you might end up buy new updated Apple Macs in the long run. Just imagine. When there is a new mac you need to buy and buy and buy a new computer. Just like buying an iphones.

Most of the time I use or run Linux or FreeBSD on virtual box. 

I notice something that after the update on my Windows 10 20H2, it load the computer up dead too slow.

Nice to see you again mrdbeta.  Thanks for the reply.  TY also SarFarr89 with the information you provided.

Sooooo, Mac is now as bad as MS Windows. Just great!!  I do not have the knowledge/skills to put a new hard drive into my tower for the purpose of trying LINUX.  That would be another whole new learning curve... both from a hardware standpoint, and also learning LINUX.

I'm not a "gamer" so don't need to worry about that at least. 

It is a sin that medical personnel cannot access patient records without computer crashes, especially during this pandemic.  It could be a life/death situation for sure.  Disgraceful!

So, but for Linux, we have no other choice.  I wish someone would come up with another viable OS that's easy to use (as windows once was!)

Macs are not wallet-friendly at all, so if it's not going to work well or at all, why spend big $$ on that?   When you say: "Most of the time I use or run Linux or FreeBSD on virtual box" you may as well be speaking Greek to me.  Totally dazed and confused. Clueless on those things. 

IF this is all too much for those of you who have much computer knowledge, imagine how I and others feel who are not so tech savvy.

I assume I'll just wait and see what happens when the updates are forced on me once again and how much trouble it gets me into.  Thank goodness I don't need my computer to run a business as many of you do!  SMH

Thanks again for all the information as always.  Crossing my fingers and toes that MS will be able to fix this mess, but seems unlikely at this point!! Think they've dug a hole they can't get out from.

I suspect that KB45928242 was causing crashes. I uninstalled it and so far, so good. But how do I prevent to from reinstalling when I re-allow updates?
