I saw your replies. Please check if your copy of Windows is pirated, because as I know, most issues occur in pirated Windows copies (not mentioned for
@Lvr19, I don't want to scare him.).
Also, please don't ALWAYS use this thread as a place to ask solutions for your update troubles; instead, click the 'Ask a question button' on top of this page and ask.
Based on the little experience I've had there doesn't seem a lot of point asking a question. They either never get an answer at all, or the ones posted really don't help. I know people are using their own time to try and help, but being told that there is
something wrong with your machine, which was working perfectly before an update, -especially when there are lots of people with the same problem - isn't helpful.
Some of the ones that appear to be helpful aren't. - I'll use this only as an example: If suggesting that someone should check if their windows is pirated, a link to how to do that would really help.
But so many people are having problems, including work machines, surely the common element is the update, not the machine.
Example : Only two days ago my sound was totally U/S without warning after three updates went in over night. As it happens there was another update to version 20H2, 19042.746, which fixed the problem.
Now today there are yet another two, and I'm now scared to install them, and can't find the option to download and install updates manually, all I can do is delay them.
On this thread for example, it is only four days old, has seven pages, and not a single actual useful reply.
And when we do get updates they usually mess up our settings.
Today for example in my 'Start window' . ALL the icons are different, and the background has changed from a nice blue to a very bright and dazzling light grey. (Even with my display set to eye saving mode)
Every time I do get an update I have to go and change the default app from photos to windows photo viewer, because every time the update changes it back to photos.
To be quite honest if Apple wasn't so hopelessly overpriced I would drop Microsoft completely. It is even more arrogant than it was when Gates was in charge, and I am convinced that there is a department there whose sole role is to add features to irritate
their customers.
Please don't take this as persona;, it was just the last straw. (And I couldn't find how to put the bit at the top about "in reply to" -- I had sort of assumed that the mighty Microsoft would put that in automatically when you hit the reply button in a post.)
