driver updates greyed out

acronis  true image  used  it from a  borrowed hard drive  that   I hd backed up to and one drive is  at it capacity, so I will lose apps and programs if  i do it the  way you suggested.  What is the  iso media creation tool can the 20H2 be installed that way . So  let me understand this I f  i do not update  to the20 H2 a  NO  updates  will install   no drivers no aps no program    correct even of they are not from  windows     for example  i i  want to update realtek  auto driver it  will not  show up  as being installed in either the installed updates or in the history or will ot update at all   am  i correct

Mary, those pictures are at risk until you have a backup. You can back up 5gb free in OneDrive, 15gb free in Google Drive, and rent more storage from them for cheap.

You can also buy an external hard drive or large flash drive to fit your data. Here is a good external hard drive that will store all of your stuff and even have room to save a System Image backup of WIndows to easily restore it if it ever won't start:

I gave you steps earlier to upgrade to Version 2004 from it's downloadable media.

I read that if  i use the media creation tool tht it wil not lose anything . and also that it could put both 2004 and 20 h2 into the computer  that was from dell is that true.  is that what you were suggesting I do with the 2004 update as well Dell was going to do it for me last night but again  because of the troubles it caused before I did not have them  do it. I ned to find something I can back up to flash drive or external hard drive

 I have over 9000 photo on my computer that  i do not want to lose. well actually I do not want to lose anything. will send you the  info that dell  gave me  . see but again  everyone wants to walk me through there  in lies the problem. walking  me through  to me is like  sending me to a foreign country and  and expecting me to immediately speak the language . I also understand that   a remote and intll by remote wit a tech may make the  tech also leary because  if  theymess up  I will unleash my rath. Not so.. All I ask for is a tech  remotely connect and help me with this..  I was also told that if  i did not update to an newer version I would get no more updates of any kind no driver update no program or app updates if  i do not update or security updates, That was supposed to be the whole reason to go to 10  because 7 would be diontinued . . i in fact the that if  i do not upgrad  i will never get another update of any kind  ever

No, Mary, I did not say the only way to run the 20H2 Update is to download and run it. I only said that was the best way to run it if it causes problems when installing. I also suggested if 20H2 is problematic to try 2004 so you have something in between for now instead of being on such an old version.

I also miss WIndows 7. But Windows 10 can be made to run just as good.
