Muvee Reveal Encore 2018 incompatible Windows 10

I just bought the software 5 days ago and once I open the programme, this message of "Exception error ocurred"  details: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" appears. I would be grateful if someone can bring me some info about or help me fix this problem. Thank you in advance.

You will not get this resolved.

Muvee Technologies Inc. is aware of this problem with Windows 10.

Although Win 10 was first released in 2015 (over 5 years ago) Muvee has failed to keep their software up to date with Windows updates, as all responsible software developers do.

You have few options.

1.  Tech support is unresponsive and if you DO get a response they will blame it in Windows.

2.  If you recently purchased, contact your credit card provider and dispute the charge.

3.  If it's an older purchase write MTI with all information and demand a refund. (you will not get one)

4.  Send a copy of your request and their refusal to you state Attorney Generals office.

5.  Send a copy of your request and their refusal to the California Attorney Generals office.

5.  Send a copy of your request and their refusal to the Better Business Bureau.

6.  Post reviews of your experience to social media and all sites that are reviewing and promoting Muvee.

7.  keep and document all records.

8.  Find a better software for your needs

At the end of the day, Muvee Technologies is an incompetent software developer that is essentially selling a product they KNOW will not work.

They *should* be hit with a class action lawsuit.

    I've managed to resolve the issue in Windows 10 by adding a firewall rule to block Muvee Reveal from accessing the web. This is essentially the same as others have suggested but without you having to remember to disconnect your whole machine from the web (and airplane mode didn't work for me).

    1. At your start menu, type "Firewall" and open "Windows Defender Firewall"
    2. Click "Advanced Settings" on the left of the dialogue that appears
    3. Click "Outbound Rules" on the left
    4. Click "New Rule" on the right
    5. Ensure "Program" is checked and click Next
    6. Click the "Browse" button and find/select the MuveeReveal.exe file on your computer. For me, this was in C:\Program Files (x86)\muvee Technologies\muvee Reveal Encore.
    7. Click Next
    8. Ensure "Block the connection" is checked and click Next
    9. Ensure "Domain", "Private" and "Public" are all checked and click Next
    10. Give your rule a name, for example "Muveee Reveal Fix" and click Finish

    Job done! You should now be able to run Muvee Reveal without the crashing on startup.

    My experience with Muvee Reveal Encore 18 is the same as everyone else's on this forum. Today, I went to muvee's website asking for a solution and notice the have 80% off the product: muvee Reveal Encore for Windows

    This is outright theft.

    There's no hope for a solution and most of us have been defrauded with our purchase of the product.

    Hi,

    (Re)installing Latest version of QuickTime from https://support.apple.com/kb/dl837 fixed the exception error for me.

    And I don't have to disconnect from internet or block Muvee in firewall.
