importing photos from iphone not showing in folders by date taken

Same issues here, used to import to date folder now just a random dump

Please advise on the specific issue as requested in the original post.  We are also experiencing the same issue. 

I can see that the developers have improved the interface in a recent version, by adding a link to change destination folder , and delete original items after import both now offered directly on the import screen - this is much appreciated, faster, and easier to use.  However we have lost the ability to import photos into individual folders by date/month.

All photos are now dumped into the root destination folder.  

Yes, it is possible to manually create a date folder for each batch of images being imported, however this is time consuming particularly when importing a large batch of images by date - ie just 4 weeks worth of photos = 28 separate imports when importing to individual date folders

My wife had the same issue. This is something Microsoft will have to address, however, there is a back door to the problem.

1. Open pictures. At the top in the ribbon, click New Folder. A new folder will appear normally at the bottom of the pictures

    page. Name the folder the date you are downloading the pictures, or a occasion, etc. When your done with that just close 

    the picture page to help avoid confusion. 

2. Plug in your SD card or camera as you normally would to add pictures to your computer. The Import Items box will come 

    up. Under select, click all items or select the photo's you wish to put in the folder you previously created in the pictures

    folder. You will notice above that it says import to C://Users/17242/Picturers. Using this would dump your photos in your

    main picture folder. Click Change Destination under this. "Probably in blue letters". Clicking that will bring up your main

    pictures folder. Click on the folder you created. Now click on "Add this folder to pictures" on the picture page at the

    bottom. Now you will notice the import to reads C://Users/17242/Pictures/"the name of your created album". Click the blue

    Import items on the bottom of the Import items page. Your photo's should now be in the folder you created on the main

    pictures page. To make the new folder and do all this literally takes less than a minute once you get used to it. Hope this

Thank you for your reply ricbrk however I am not that organised and don't tend to download my photographs every time I take them. In the past when I downloaded them they would organise themselves into folders of the date the photo was taken however if I follow your suggestion above they will still put them all into one folder and I will still need to sort them out into date the photo was taken. But thank you so much for the suggestion.
