Windows 10 mail printing on one quarter of page

Today, I printed an email from Windows 10 Mail. The Mail app version is Version 16005.13426.20316.0. I printed by clicking the "..." at top right, then selecting Print. I was printing to letter sized paper. Print preview looks normal. However, when I print, the print is compressed into 1/4 of the page, and is so tiny as to be illegible. The entire page prints in the top left quarter of the paper.

Printing a test page is normal.

Print from Word is normal.

I have tried more than one emails from Mail, and they print the tiny version to the top left quarter of the sheet. It happens whether I print on one side or double-sided.

Just discovered this yesterday. I ended up printing the email I needed from my phone, so this is definitely a Windows issue. Thanks for posting this as I was tearing my hair out checking settings and nothing was out of line.

I have discovered the exact same issue and I have a Canon TR7550 printer. I tried changing printer settings but nothing changes. Printing from all other Microsoft apps (Word, Excel, etc.) is fine so definitely seems like a Mail issue. Please get this sorted asap. It's very annoying!

My wife had the same problem with her HP Envy 5000 series printer. She is using Windows 10 mail, and I use Gmail. We have her printer and mine on the same network, and I can control either one. If she sends me the troublesome email, I can send it back to her printer via Gmail, and it prints perfectly. I suggest the problem lies with the Windows 10 update, and not with the printer. You could always change to Gmail, and problem solved.

Your suggestion is good - a convenient and elegant workaround. Many of us have gmail of course so your idea works.

I think it's well established that this is a problem with MS and the W10 update. But MS may not give a hoot about printing issues for the home user - maybe nobody prints much anymore? I've long struggled with printer/OS problems. I've have had to deep-6 at least one good printer because it was "no longer supported" after O/S upgrades. Usually, I can work away at an interface issue and solve it on my own. This is the first time I've ever gotten involved with this forum - I've always found it helpful - lots of clever minds here - but to me, this issue is really serious - workarounds don't cut it. If MS doesn't fix this soon, it looks bad for them - they will lose face in this community - for sure with me.

You are welcome. It looks like cubman1941 got a promise from MSFT they will fix it. So, the many complaints they've received has paid off. In the meantime, just type "Outlook.com" into the Search bar. You'll be able to print from there without copy/paste. But it's still awkward.
