Windows 10 20H2 feature update causes lags, freezes, slow performance

I installed the Windows 10 20H2 update about a week ago, and since then my computer constantly freezes. These tasks aren't computationally demanding - watching videos in the browser or Spotify etc. I read there were some known issues with the update affecting network connectivity as well as general performance issues, but I've tried to install the patches for this and they're "not applicable to my device".

I have a series of driver updates but nothing else in my "optional updates" section. Should I try these? Are there pending patches for this update yet to be released? Worst case scenario, can I just roll it back completely?

    With the 21H1 update I had the problem again.

    I fixed by reinstalling the motherboard drivers by taking them from the manufacturer's site. I reinstalling the SATA drivers of my motherboard went in place.

    I observed the same symptoms right after upgrade to 20H2 independently on two Windows machines. On one they were mostly gone (still happen occasionally for a fraction of a second) after subsequent system updates. But on the second they persisted long time afterwards. The frequency was terrible > 1/minute and the freezing lasted long several seconds - the longer and more often the longer the system was running after boot. It was painful to do any work at all.

    I was trying different things, reinstalling and upgrading divers, disabling some devices, poking with settings, changing browsers, avoiding some software - all for vain.

    One day I replaced the Dynamic Desktop Theme which was shuffling beautiful images on the wallpaper with the default boring static one (single image). No more jitter, no more freezing - all gone like magic.

    Hope this help some of you guys, and perhaps hint some Microsoft developers to finally reproduce the case and try to uproot the real culprit?

    Was  having  the  same  issue, so  uninstalled Nord  VPN , the  PC  became  a  bit  faster  after  that. I  am  trying  the  command  prompt  methods  now, just  to  ensure , all  is  good.

    I have bad performance plus all the  texts from windows are gone. Finally i install KB5003690 and the texts are fixed.
