Today I received an email from Sophos related to my case in which they advised me to install the latest hotfix which was updated January 21st.

    https://support.sophos.com/support/s/article/KB-000038477?language=en_US

The previous version of the hotfix didn't work.

According to their mail: "This should resolve the reported crashes."

Because I have to delete the global exception rule in Sophos Central which will cause new crashes of Outlook within our organization, does anyone want to try the new hotfix?

I reviewed the patch notes for this patch and I do not see anything with the new hotfix related to our Outlook issue.

So, need to maintain the exception until one of our Sophos tickets (it looks like between us we have at least three open) gets a better answer from Sophos.

Ok Everyone I am having this email error also but do not have sophos.  It just started a week ago and it happens randomly but it getting worse.

It happens only when I try t send an email then I when I reboot i can find the email in drafts but pieces of it are missing and I have to rewrite.  I believe it is the same issue as all of you but I'm not running sophos

For us it was the Sophos Exploit Mitigation that was causing the issue.  I would check to see if you can temporarily turn off Exploit Mitigation on your Anti-virus to see if the issue persists without it.

    Hello Kerry

I also have a problem with Office crashes because of UCRTBASE.DLL

I'm trying to figure out what helped you solve the problem.

    Thank you very much

Assuming you are using Sophos, you can add the exceptions listed previously in this thread - OR - try removing the "Insights" add-in from Outlook.  I had 4 workstations crashing due to the problem in this thread and removing Insights addon fixed all 4 w/o having to add the exceptions to Sophos.
