Downloading pictures wont save in folder by date

I'm not going to presume to speak for danrobinson7. I will speak for myself though.

I can sort them by date, that's not the issue. The issue is that Microsoft removed the feature that allows users to import photos and have them automatically put into folders by date (2020-12, 2020-11, etc.). Instead all photos are dumped into the Pictures folder and the user has to sort them.

In case this NOT a behavior you like, you may open start and search for feedback and open Feedback Hub app and share your concern, make sure elaborate like how it used to be and how it has been changed and why you don't like this new improvement.

My wife had the same issue. This is something Microsoft will have to address, however, there is a back door to the problem.

1. Open pictures. At the top in the ribbon, click New Folder. A new folder will appear normally at the bottom of the pictures

    page. Name the folder the date you are downloading the pictures, or a occasion, etc. When your done with that just close 

    the picture page to help avoid confusion. 

2. Plug in your SD card or camera as you normally would to add pictures to your computer. The Import Items box will come 

    up. Under select, click all items or select the photo's you wish to put in the folder you previously created in the pictures

    folder. You will notice above that it says import to C://Users/17242/Picturers. Using this would dump your photos in your

    main picture folder. Click Change Destination under this. "Probably in blue letters". Clicking that will bring up your main

    pictures folder. Click on the folder you created. Now click on "Add this folder to pictures" on the picture page at the

    bottom. Now you will notice the import to reads C://Users/17242/Pictures/"the name of your created album". Click the blue

    Import items on the bottom of the Import items page. Your photo's should now be in the folder you created on the main

    pictures page. To make the new folder and do all this literally takes less than a minute once you get used to it. Hope this

Thank You so much for this solution! I have been so frustrated with this. It's so weird how that this  glitch seemed to happen over-night.

I'm glad it helped. Makes you wonder if these updates are worth the risk ? Edge updated and now people are having trouble with the saving the passwords. Save passwords, shut computer down. Next time you start it saved passwords are gone. I'm still trying to figure that out. Chrome updated last fall, and now it is having the same password issue, plus it is pausing sync so you have to keep signing in. It's all crazy.
