Repeated crashes and BSOD on ASUS TUF A15

Hello,

Several months ago I bought an gaming laptop, an Asus TUF A15 FA506IV with Windows 10 installed. Everything was fine in the first weeks, but then my computer started to crash and get BSOD randomly, except when I'm playing or using it intensively, which is weird.

I've tried everything, ranging from reinstalling drivers, to a complete reset and windows install.

I've checked RAM, disk and system files integrity, tried multiple repair tools, both Microsoft and unofficial, multiple times, installed every single driver based on Windows Update recommendations/constructor website, even used driver verifier, but nothing has changed since.

The only thing that sometimes changes is the error message of the bluescreen, when there's one. Often the screen only goes completly black, and nothing else happens.

Oh, and I can't show any memory/crash dump since nothing is generated.

Is there anything else to do, or is my computer doomed to be returned to the vendor ?

    How long's it been?

Two days ago I took apart the laptop and swapped the network card from the cheap realtek that came with it for the intel ax200 that I ordered online. While I was there I cleaned it up and reinserted the SSD into the other slot (the one NOT on top of the network card and right beside the heatsink).

Still testing these configs, but after only two days it's not soon enough to see any difference. But let's see. At least the network card is good. No more issues with BT.

i think you do not understand i am not talking about just reinserting ssd or hdd i am saying you take out the ssd and connect this ssd to any other working pc and then go to disk management

-delete every partition of the drive

    -fully erase the drive

-now reinstall sdd in the problematic pc and just do the clean install using windows usb

hello, recently i got rid of this problem
but reduce some of it's performance

    i think it's a heat issue on A15 laptop

    here's my solution

    1. Install Ryzen controller
      https://gitlab.com/ryzen-controller-team/ryzen-controller/-/jobs/1220935756/artifacts/browse/dist/win/
    2. set CPU TDP (W) to 12
    3. set CPU TDP Boost (W) to 12
    4. right click on battery icon
    5. power option
    6. change plan settings
    7. change advanced power setting
    8. processor power management
    9. maximum power state set to 100%
    10. minimum power state set to 80%

well it will limit the cpu performance to 3GHz - 3.2GHz

but at least it's BSOD free

Hello, I have a similar problem.

I just bought an ASUS TUF A15 F506IU using an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H and GTX 1660TI.

For the past week I've been encountering BSODs with ntoskrnl.exe being the cause, I've removed the ram stick by moving to another slot but in the end it still produces a BSOD error. After investigating the error I encountered, I finally found a solution that hopefully can help you.

Here are the steps I took to solve the problem :

    1. Uninstall Every AMD Drivers including AMD Crash Defender, Chipset and Graphic
    2. Don't restart your PC
    3. Install every of AMD Drivers manually from the official website.
    4. Follow every step from the installation

And that's what I can do to solve the problem with the ntoskrnl.exe BSOD

I Hope might this help you.

I have been following posts like these for about a year now since I got the computer and nothing worked.

BUT THIS DOES. Look a few posts up where people say to download the Ryzen Controller and change the settings. I am on mobile so I can't check right now but:

Nothing worked ever until this. It's been a week or more with 100% stability and no problems whatsoever. I didn't change or uninstall any drivers or mess with any hidden expert level settings like people are saying to do.

Just download Ryzen controller and follow the posted instructions and it works. Like a charm. Can't thank you guys enough. Finally after a whole year I have a real laptop again.
