I have a similar problem for 9 months now. A clean reinstallation of Windows does not help. Replacing drivers with any does not help. Rolling back drivers does not help. Nothing helps. Did something help you? Did the motherboard replacement help?
Same. Been happening, as far as I recall, since I got it over half a year ago. TUF A15 fa506iv. Just updated to bios version 316.
Solutions attempted so far, to no avail:
Reinstall GPU drivers. 10 times.
Updating to latest BIOS (314-316). 3 times.
Reinstall Windows. Different versions. 3 times.
Uninstall GPU drivers using DDU and update to latest. Twice.
Install OEM drivers. 3 times.
Memory diagnostic. Once.
Switching HDMI cable. 3 times.
Toggle Hyper-V in Win optional features. 5 times.
Removing USB peripherals. 4 times.
No minidumps end up being created, since it’s seemingly NOT a GSoD or BSoD.
Only temporary fix is a cold reset.
Also it’s pretty random. It can occur while I browse the web, watch YT, or play a game. Even just have music playing in the background or be away from the computer just to come back to the green/black screen. Completely and utterly random.
Occurs anywhere from once every 3 days or as soon as 2 minutes after booting into Windows. All that’s certain is that it will happen, it’s just a matter of when.
Interestingly, nothing stands out in Event Viewer, and I've checked (literally) dozens of times. Looking at the timestamps of when the black/green screen occurs and any event that corresponds to the time, give or take a minute or two, when it happens shows nothing that could explain it. And what few suspicions that there were seemed to be one offs.
Solutions I'd like to try, but haven't because of needing to use the laptop at all times using its current configs:
- Turn off Hyper-V in BIOS.
- Run Linux.
EDIT:
Over a week after posting this, I've tried Fadjri Aladin's suggestion (of setting maximum processor state to 99%) on the first page, and haven't yet experienced the crash. So it seems like an issue with either the CPU itself, or the chipset drivers, or the governor/scheduler. Note that it's not heating related because the crash happens while temps are in the 60s or 70s c regularly, while on the other hand remain stable under load of near 95-105 c during heavy gaming.
