Repeated crashes and BSOD on ASUS TUF A15

Hello,

Several months ago I bought an gaming laptop, an Asus TUF A15 FA506IV with Windows 10 installed. Everything was fine in the first weeks, but then my computer started to crash and get BSOD randomly, except when I'm playing or using it intensively, which is weird.

I've tried everything, ranging from reinstalling drivers, to a complete reset and windows install.

I've checked RAM, disk and system files integrity, tried multiple repair tools, both Microsoft and unofficial, multiple times, installed every single driver based on Windows Update recommendations/constructor website, even used driver verifier, but nothing has changed since.

The only thing that sometimes changes is the error message of the bluescreen, when there's one. Often the screen only goes completly black, and nothing else happens.

Oh, and I can't show any memory/crash dump since nothing is generated.

Is there anything else to do, or is my computer doomed to be returned to the vendor ?

Memory : 16GB

GPU : NVidia RTX 2060 GDDR6 6GB

CPU : Ryzen 4800H with Radeon Graphics, 2900Mhz, 8 cores, 16 virtual cores

Storage : 500GB SSD Kingston OM8PCP3512F-AB

    Hey I was having the same issue so I did a lot all the way to a full wipe of the computer still didn't help so since I had warenty on it took it to office deepo. After waiting for a few days I got a message that the computer was a defect and unfixable so I could come and pick a totaly new computer. In the end I picked the same type of computer and all was fine until it started crashing again I think it might be a problem with the ASUS TUF gaming A15.

    I've seen many so many of these issues related to the Tuff A15 and A17 (which I have). I'm a computer tech and have exhausted my 30+ years experience trying to resolve these issues. I finally gave up and bought another laptop.

    I'm fairly convinced these issues are arising from poor engineering and maybe poorly written drivers.

    In all my years, I've never met such a buggy computer that resists every effort to fix the faults. I'm thinking there could be a class action law suite in this. This laptop has no stability.

    Thanks for the advices!

    I have been almost 2 weeks without a blue screen with this options.

    I turned off the Link State Power Management and sleep options.

    I think this is the problem when it works with low energy.

    Hope the issue has gone!

    I will post a few weeks later about the problem.

    I had this exact same problem. I already posted a few times in this thread.

    I have been problem free for 3 weeks now.

    Sometimes after coming out of hibernate in the first minute or two, if I am using Chrome and especially Youtube, Chrome will seem to hang for about 5 seconds when the sound is playing fine. Everything then catches up and no problem. I suspect this same issue was previously causing my system to BSOD (ultimately I think this is being caused by faulty hardware, but maybe it can be avoided by system settings).

    Here is what I did most recently, which I think solved the problem.

    The three things I did that seemed to have fixed or at least improved the problem were

    Use System Files Utility Checker to Fix System Files

    type sfc /scannow and press Enter. (it found corrupted files)

    Turn Link State Power Management Off

    You can see Link State Power Managementin the Power Options of your system’s Control Panel. 

    (Also set video card to prefer maximum performance)

    Turn off Sleep, let the PC go directly to hibernate (this was suggested by a random guy somewhere. He state the hibernate was more more stable and less buggy than sleep in Windows10)
