WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

    Isn’t windows a true multitasking OS? Why do my PC almost freeze up whenever disk usage reach 100%? Shouldn’t Windows processes be restricted to 50% disk usage to avoiding locking the PC out of use for the end users instead?

My disk usage is at 100% again. Look like I have to permanently disable Windows update to resolve this.     And Searchapp.exe as well. And there is no way to end task this because it will get loaded immediately. The solution is to end task it and quickly rename the folder: C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.Search_cw5n1h2txyewy.oldSo that it cannot find Searchapp.exe to reload! Now my disk usage rarely hit above 10%!

    Update on my situation:

    Waasmedic seems to have ceased it's long running sessions on my system. Haven't had any in more than a week and I have allowed some updates to go through.

    Another interesting WaasDay yesterday. On this system which has an SSD it only ran for a few seconds, too fast to even catch. On my studio system with an HDD it ran for 13 and a half minutes grinding away at 100% while reading files in the WinSxS and LCU folders and then reading personal files that have nothing to do with windows. This system is an old i5 3470 with 8 gigs of ram while the studio is an i7 8700K with 16 gigs so there's no way it should perform less than this system other than the type of drives they have. I don't think I can call Waas spyware at this point despite its activity since if it was it would also scan my internet system with the SSD which is loaded with files. I think that's a clue, the difference between the SSD and HDD and also Waas doesn't seem to scan the D: drive only the C: drive. I think the Waas issue is a BUG that M$ simply can't fix. The fact that M$ employees won't read this thread to get an idea of what's going on to see if we might actually provide them some information that's not included in the Feedback Hub reports tells me there will be no fix and every Sunday I'll have to put up with Win 10 degrading the life span of my hard drives. So I've been looking at Apple Mac systems for music production and will continue to use Linux more and more for internet duties. Not one more penny from me M$ not one penny more.
