WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

    I believe to remove it can only been done through the registry (dangerous). It appears MS being MS realises this & reinstalls it. WaasMedic is supposed to serve a purpose, feeling is their description of it's purpose might not be correct & actually carries out other stealth processes they don't wish us to know but we all have suspicions!

    It is nice you have found the feedback entries. I gather it is possible for random MS engineers to access the reports because when I try to look at the links, for every one that has been posted in this thread for the past several months, I get "your account does not have access to this feedback" so there is no way to add support to it. In fact, I can't even locate / access the report I filed through feedback last month. So I think "Feedback Hub" is just another way to sucker people into spending more time logged in to their MS account so that MS gets that much more access to your machine, can add more personal data to their profile of you (likely for sale to third parties as well as for expansion of MS efforts to market to you) and to give you the false sense that they will actually DO SOMETHING about the "problem".

    In this case the only "problem" MS sees is how to prevent users from interfering with MS spyware, in this case WaasMedicAgent and all the "minions" it spawns during the boot process. After everyone caught on to "compattelrunner" and how to prevent that from running they had to design a newer spyware item, more intensely integrated into the OS, harder for users to thwart so they could continue to upload the contents of your HD to their "data analytics" systems.

    I guess, even if you have managed to disable OneDrive, if you ever lose a critical file you could always petition MS to get it back from their spyware-obtained image of your system. ;^}

    ... and it appears to be laced throughout the registry (all the control set hives, system, software etc.) From a quick look at SysInternals Process Monitor output it looks like those registry keys are opened, modified etc. over a hundred times during a boot on a day when WaasMedic IS NOT scheduled to run. (Haven't been able to capture one of my wait-75-minutes-til-usable boot-ups.) I'm no expert in interpreting the ProcMon output but it looks like, even if you tried to flush WaasMedicAgent from the registry, it would simply "repair" itself and keep spying on you anyway. IOW, you likely can't get rid of it except by going to Linux or iOS.
